Flight Reviews & Pilot Proficiency
Staying current is only part of being a safe pilot—staying proficient is what builds confidence and sharpens your skills. Whether you're due for your FAA-required Flight Review or simply want to improve your flying, I'll tailor each lesson to your experience level, goals, and the type of flying you enjoy.
FAA Flight Reviews (Every 24 Calendar Months)
The FAA requires pilots to complete a Flight Review every 24 calendar months to continue exercising pilot-in-command privileges. Rather than treating it as a "checkride," I view every Flight Review as an opportunity to become a better, safer, and more confident pilot.
Each review includes:
A review of current FAA regulations and airspace
Weather planning and aeronautical decision-making
Risk management and safety practices
Aircraft systems and performance review
Normal, short-field, and soft-field operations
Emergency procedures
Any additional training tailored to your experience and flying goals
My objective is to make your Flight Review educational, relaxed, and enjoyable while ensuring you meet all FAA requirements.
Pilot Proficiency Flights
Even if your Flight Review isn't due, regular proficiency training is one of the best investments you can make as a pilot. Whether you've been away from flying for a few months, recently purchased an aircraft, or simply want to sharpen your skills, I can customize a lesson specifically for you.
Popular proficiency topics include:
Crosswind takeoffs and landings
Short-field and soft-field operations
Emergency procedures
Radio communications and airspace transitions
Cross-country planning and navigation
Night flying
Confidence-building after time away from flying
Transition training for Cessna 172 aircraft
No matter your experience level, my goal is to help you become a safer, more capable pilot while making every flight enjoyable and worthwhile.
